Established in 1929, John’s of Bleecker Street is one of the city’s oldest (& most iconic) pizzeria. They only sell pizzas strictly by the pie, but unlike most New York pizzerias, John’s is an actual sit-down restaurant where you can devour your pie of choice in leisure. They’re known for their classic New York-style cheese pizza, with topping add on options like pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ricotta, etc.
Lucali
575 Henry Street, Brooklyn
Tucked away in Carroll Gardens, Lucali is a cozy neighborhood gem serving up mouthwatering thin-crust pizzas to some of NYC's biggest Hollywood stars and hard-hitters. Their specialty pie features a three cheese blend of buffalo mozzarella, low-moisture mozzarella, and shaved Grana Padano topped with fresh basil that is simply to die for. Reservations are nearly impossible, so your best bet is to line up before it opens and pop down your name for a chance to get on the waitlist. It is cash and BYOB so plan ahead before you go.
L’Industrie

With two locations in Williamsburg and West Village, L’Industrie offers a modern twist on the traditional Neapolitan-style pizza. From their inventive toppings like burrata and hot honey to their perfectly charred crust, L’Industrie’s slices are not one to miss when you visit the Big Apple. Their West Village branch just recently opened so there is likely a longer line, so we’d recommend checking out their original one in Brooklyn for a shorter wait.
Prince St Pizza

Nestled in the bustling Soho neighborhood, Prince St Pizza is famous for its Sicilian-style square slices. The “Spicy Spring” pizza featuring spicy pepperoni cups is a must order, and their vodka slide is also not one to miss. It’s the perfect spot to grab a slice after shopping!
Mama's Too!

They just opened a new location in West Village and the lines are already insane, so you know it’s one to add to the list!
Roberta's

Roberta’s is a pizzeria in Bushwick, Brooklyn that pretty much ushered in a new era of New York-style pizza when it was first established in 2008. Today, with so many other offerings on the market, they remain a standard for exceptional pizza. They also serve other dishes on their menu like pasta and salumi but the star of the show is their pizzas, our favourites include their Famous Original and Bee Sting.
Rubirosa

Located in Nolita, Rubirosa is a neighborhood family operated Italian-American pizzeria. They are known for their Staten Island-style pizza as well as Italian-American classics including a wide selection of pastas made fresh in-house daily. You won’t want to miss their iconic “Tie-Dye Pizza” if you dine here, a creative mix of vodka, tomato, pesto, and mozzarella.
Scarr's Pizza
35 Orchard Street, New York
Scarr’s Pizza is a Lower East Side institution that specializes in nostalgic slices reminiscent of old-school New York pizza parlors. Whether you’re a round, Sicilian, or Grandma style lover, you’ll find all types of pies at Scarr’s. They also have a pretty large space for seating, so you can opt to dine in and enjoy a pie if you’d like.
Lucia Pizza

With two locations in Brooklyn and Soho, Lucia Pizza is a family owned Italian-American eatery specializing in New York style pizza. Their Soho menu is pretty straightforward, serving strictly pies, but their Brooklyn location offers more extensive options like chicken/eggplant parm and fun pie toppings like clams and shrimp.
